THE UNIVERSALLY ADAPTABLE RUN PANELS to make large flexible enclosures
Can we help? - Which house to choose : Ducks : Chickens : Geese : Turkeys : Rabbits : Other Livestock :
Product Information : Avian influenza : Call Jill to discuss : 01631 720223
RUN PANELS - These are sturdy hurdles that can be made up to any configuration that suits your needs - to give a greater enclosed space than a run. Obviously the more you have the more space your birds have and the less often you have to move them all.
They provide much more adaptability and allow you to include shrubs and trees in your chicken or duck run
They are also useful for orphan lambs, puppies [someone has even suggested kids!!]
To keep hens in the area or predators out it can be covered with predator net (or fruit cage net)

If you are concerned about the stories about Avian influenza [ bird flu] and want to have something you can put together if there should be a more immediate threat to your birds look at these panels. You can create a pen of any size you want which conforms to the guidelines with a plastic or tarpaulin cover to prevent any contamination from above.
The weldmesh of each panel will prevent small garden birds from getting in as required.

prices :

Standard panel [ 6 ft long x 3 ft high ] = £22.00
Hinged panel for access [ 6 ft long x 3 ft high ] = £27.00
Skewer bar = £2.00
Carriage for 4 panels = £ 16.00 (1.00 for each additional panel)
Predator net for top = 3 per linear metre

so for the set up in the pictures : 4 standard panels + 1 hinged panel + 7 skewers + carriage would be £ 146 including vat
This is quite a small enclosure for the size of the house and therefore limits the numbers of birds that would be using it.

A generous rule of thumb is to have at least one panel per bird so as to be able to make an area that does not need moving too often.
The smaller the run with lots of birds in - they will use the ground up much more quickly so both the house and run will need moved more frequently.
An advantage of the panels is that for the first moves to fresh grazing you can simply rotate the house and set the panels out in another direction.
Any arrangement can be used ( see bottom of page)

ELECTRIC NETTING - the answer to being able to let your birds have a great deal more space but not be in danger from dogs, foxes, badgers etc. Our netting is green and black so much more visually pleasing.
