KINTALINE FARM PLANT AND POULTRY CENTRE Benderloch by OBAN Argyll PA37 1QS Scotland
2010 is a year for re-evaluating all our values and working to improve our personal sustainability, there has never been a better time to get our gardens working harder for ourselves, growing our own food: meat and eggs, recycling more, breeding more useful types of birds, and helping each other.
Our websites are full of experienced advice, from decades of breeding and rearing and eating, and well researched, reliable, state of the art products for the domestic environment.
We look forward to helping you get more out of your garden or smallholding, and your birds, for a fulfilling 2010.
PLEASE read our CONTACT US page for our opening times.
We are very busy outside these days so, sometimes, the office is not manned.
Please email any queries about purchasing and we will get back in touch with you as soon as we can.

THE UNIVERSALLY ADAPTABLE RUN PANELS to make large flexible enclosures ~ Now with netting lids
Run panels, linking hurdles for poultry pen

RUN PANELS - These are sturdy hurdles that can be made up to any configuration that suits your needs - to give a greater enclosed space than a run. Obviously the more you have the more space your birds have and the less often you have to move them all.

They provide much more adaptability and allow you to include shrubs and trees in your chicken or duck run
They are also useful for orphan lambs, puppies [someone has even suggested kids!!]
To keep hens in the area or predators out it can be covered with predator net (or fruit cage net)

If you are concerned about the stories about Avian Influenza [Bird flu] and want to have something you can put together if there should be a more immediate threat to your birds look at these panels. You can create a pen of any size you want which conforms to the guidelines with a plastic or tarpaulin cover to prevent any contamination from above.

For smaller pens we now have a fixed roofing option which could easily be covered in plastic to be Avian influenza compliant.
The weldmesh of each panel will prevent small garden birds from getting in as required. SCROLL DOWN PAGE FOR PICTURES
Prices :

  • Standard panel [ 6 ft long x 3 ft high ] = £25.00
  • Hinged panel for access [ 6 ft long x 3 ft high ] = £30.00
  • Skewer bar = £2.00 - two for each panel and the hinged panel takes 3
  • Rigid frame Run top for 6ft x 6ft = £52.00
  • Poly tarp for 6 ft x 6 ft = £5.00
  • Predator net for top = £3.00 per linear metre
  • Carriage for 4 panels = £24.00 (£2.50 for each additional panel) (£3.00 per run top included)

so for the set up in the pictures below : 4 standard panels + 1 hinged panel + 7 skewers + carriage would be £170.50    netting 6m :- 1 £18.00
This is quite a small enclosure for the size of the house and therefore limits the numbers of birds that would be using it.

A good rule of thumb is to have at least one panel per bird so as to be able to make an area that does not need moving too often and that is not so confining that the birds start bullying each other.
CLICK HERE if you would like to buy online securely with Paypal, or phone Jill to place your order in person.

  • A 4 panel setup : 3 panels; 1 hinged; 6 skewers; carriage; £145.00    netting 4m :- £12.00
  • A 4 panel setup with lid : 3 panels; 1 hinged; 1 run top; 6 skewers; carriage; £199.00
  • A 6 panel setup : 5 panels; 1 hinged; 8 skewers; carriage; £199.00    netting 6m :- £18.00
  • An 8 panel setup : 7 panels; 1 hinged; 10 skewers; carriage; £245.00    netting 8m :- £24.00
  • A 10 panel setup : 9 panels; 1 hinged; 12 skewers; carriage; £299.00    netting 10m :- £30.00

The smaller the run with lots of birds in the quicker they will use the ground up so both the house and run will need moved more frequently. Its best to invest in as many as you can, and you can always add more later.
An advantage of the panels is that for the first moves to fresh grazing you can simply rotate the house and set the panels out in another direction.

ELECTRIC NETTING - the answer to being able to let your birds have a great deal more space but not be in danger from daytime predators such as dogs, foxes, badgers, mink etc. Our netting is green and black so much more visually pleasing, its also taller than standard offering you greater protection. This will also help to keep wildfowl flocks at a distance if you are concerned about avian influenza.
