Ideal hen house for the garden; stylish and practical. More useable space than many arks. Many people have also used this house for rabbits - a great fun rabbit hutch with plenty of space and more entertainment than most. |
Raised House with Run attached
The house section is raised to allow poultry access to the area below. The underside of the house provides a weather protected feed point and a feeder is available to be fitted to the swivel rear panel. The swivel solid rear panel and removable side one comes as standard and a second side one is an optional extra. The roof is sheeted Onduline. The external nesting box, slide out floor and roosting bars are fitted as standard, as are the carrying handles. Pop hole access to the run is provided with a drop down cover and ramp to the run area. The run is constructed with 25mm square 16 gauge heavy mesh and has a removable top for access. If you have concerns about avian influenza [bird flu] it is very simple to make this comply with the current guidelines by covering the run roof with sheeting. This will not tamper with its operation - it lifts off to access the run area. If your birds normally range beyond the house you can look at the Run panels to make large but protected areas. Softwood construction using 'Tanalised' tongue and groove cladding
and framing that is either 'Tanalised' or 'Fentex' protected.
All roofs are clad with 'Onduline' corrugated sheet made from bitumen saturated organic fibre, these are hinged for easy access and cleaning on all units except those provided entrance doors. Roosting bars are fitted. Access for all livestock is via a pop hole with a sliding door. High level ventilation is provided on all units plus additional adjustable vent on larger units. All units are supplied with a solid floor. 25mm square 16 gauge heavy mesh is used on all runs for strength and security The finished colour of the units is 'nut' brown, fixtures and fittings are galvanised or plated. All units are sectional and delivered flat packed with screws provided for easy assembly.
