Rear of the house with the door open and the lower panel halfway round. The standard panel is shown beneath the nest box [it could be fitted on the other side if that was where the prevailing wind was. On both sides there is weldmesh netting.

The Windsor Range

  • This house has many special features - the protected feed point, slide out floor, protection from the elements, and a very stylish look for any contemporary garden
  • Beneath the house is a weather protected feed point. In this country's fickle climate this gives some shelter for your birds and somewhere dry to fix a feeder.
  • The optional Eltex feeder [see below] is fixed to the panel beneath the house which rotates inside out on a swivel. This allows you to simply fill the feeder and return it to its secured position beneath the house. The birds access the feed from the front. To provide shelter under the house from the prevailing winds there is one removable side panel which can be fitted to either side.
  • In very exposed places you may decide you need both sides covered. A second side panel is available as an option.

  • This is a house for chickens so is supplied with an external nesting box as standard. All the family will love lifting the lid to collect the days eggs.
  • Also included are the slide out floor which removes completely for easy cleaning and roosting bars. Pop hole access is provided with a drop down cover and ramp.
  • It is very easy to access the birds - there is a door in the back of the house.
  • This chicken house stands raised from the ground therefore eliminating rodent problems occasionally associated with units having little ground clearance, if you live in an area where rodents are a problem.
  • If you want a run - please look at the GROSVENOR which is the identical house with an intergral run
  • This is a great chicken house for bantams and medium sized chickens - like Rhode Island Reds, Wyandottes, Araucanas, Black Rocks.
  • We DO NOT recommend this house for the larger breeds like the Orpingtons, and Brahmas. [explanation here]

    ELECTRIC NETTING - the answer to being able to let your birds have a great deal more space but not be in danger from dogs, foxes, badgers etc. Our netting is green and black so much more visually pleasing.

    At the farm [WE ARE OPEN DAILY FROM 10 am - please phone ahead in the winter] we also welcome cash.
    This range is ideal for chickens - less so for ducks or the heavy breeds of chickens [Orpingtons; Brahmas; Cochins etc] as most don't happily go up and down ramps. For these the Westford is better - also as it has more head room above the perches for better ventilation. Its not a good idea to have the birds head near the flow of air as it can cause respiratory disease. The Windsor is also popular with rabbit owners.
    If you would like a large run around the house to protect crops or your birds from predators - then take a look at our Run Panels - which allow you to make a run of any size and shape you want.

    		Softwood construction using 'Tanalised' tongue and groove cladding and framing that is either 'Tanalised' or 'Fentex' protected.
    All roofs are clad with 'Onduline' corrugated sheet made from bitumen saturated organic fibre, these are hinged for easy access and cleaning on all units except those provided entrance doors.
    Roosting bars are fitted.
    Access for all livestock is via a pop hole with a sliding door.
    High level ventilation is provided on all units plus additional adjustable vent on larger units.
    All units are supplied with a solid floor.
    25mm square 16 gauge heavy mesh is used on all runs for strength and security
    The finished colour of the units is 'nut' brown,
    fixtures and fittings are galvanised or plated.
    All units are sectional and delivered flat packed with screws provided for easy assembly.
