The Stafford Laying houses
Raised chicken houses for small to medium breeds of chickens. |
Stafford Laying House £256.00
Carriage : £ 27.00 (delivery surcharges may apply to some locations)
A raised house suitable for 8 to 10 small and medium sized chickens fitted with externally accessed nesting box. Being raised 15 inches from the ground provides the birds with shelter from the elements. If you live somewhere with a serious rodent problem, then being raised can also prevent them getting comfortable underneath. This is not an issue for the majority of locations.
A slide out floor is provided for easy cleaning. Supplied with two roosting bars, nest box and a ramp to the pop hole. The roof is hinged to allow access to the house. Permanent ventilation is provided.
Specifications: 33 " x 42" ( not including the nest box )
Height at front 45" overall and at back 39" overall. Nest box is 12 " deep
OPTIONAL EXTRAS:
Additional nest box [if you are using it for bantams and have more than 10 in the house]: £38.00
Carry Handles [to make it easy to move the house]: £10.00
STAFFORD MAJOR LAYING HOUSE : £429.00
carriage : £35.00 (delivery surcharges may apply to some locations)
Unit size - width 60" plus nest boxes; height 50", depth 46"
This unit retains all the features of the standard unit but offers a larger capacity of up to 20 hens. 2 nest boxes are fitted as standard together with 3 roosting bars and slide out floors for ease of cleaning.
The Stafford houses are ideal for small to medium breeds but raised houses are NOT suitable for the larger breeds, like Orpington's. These need more height above them to prevent respiratory problems and, in general, they do not like using ramps. For the big birds the likes of our Westford is much better.
STAFFORD JUNIOR - this house is a smaller version at £188.00 carriage : £24.00 (delivery surcharges may apply to some locations)
The smallest version of the popular Stafford range with external nestbox and slide out floor as standard. This unit will house up to 3 standard size laying birds.
Unit size:- 25" x 35" x 45" (max height)
Unit stands 15" off the floor
Nestbox with its lid is a further 15"
If you like a raised house but are needing an integral run please take a look at the Grosvenor
We have various solutions for managing the birds, protecting them from predators, and the elements. Our run panels can be used to make an enclosure around the house which is mobile. For a covered area providing shade and shelter for your birds all year around and to be prepared for Avian influenza compliance we have a 9 ft by 6 ft Walk in covered run, including poly tarp for the roof. And to protect birds from daytime foxes, neighbours dogs, and to give them a much more generous area but keep them off the veggies then electric netting is the best solution.
